Ok there was a lot of things happening, but I haven’t updated my blog because I don’t really see a benefit to it.

JLPT

So as part of my JLPT study, I made jakuten and goi but I’m ashamed to admit that I have abandoned it at the moment. I’m too focused on learning through soumatome & mock exams that I have no other choice to not maintain it for the time being.

Ironically I made them as tools for learning, but I didn’t use them at all. What I did instead was to make an anki deck based on the data I have on hand. I’m ashamed to admit that I used AI to generate a python script that outputs an anki deck. Anki is part of my daily routine alongside exercise so I actually did end up using the decks generated this way.

I’ve pretty much accepted the fact that going from N3 to N2 in 2-3 months is too crazy, but I will try my best anyway.

After the test next Sunday (5th of July, 2026) I will share the anki decks / the generated script as part of an update.

Body weight & blood pressure progress

So around May - early June I hit a huge… something? I don’t know what to call it but my mental wasn’t something I would call “good”. My health regressed very badly, with my body weight reaching 71.5kg at one point. My blood pressure was constantly above 130/85 too.

Then around mid June I hit some sort of ephiphany, and tried to do a calorie deficit while taking more protein and fiber. I also cut back on added sugar from teas and desserts. My weight now hovers around 68-69, and my blood pressure now hovers around 120/80, which is still considered elevated but progress is slow.

I kind of regressed again today because last week was also not really going well for me. Which is why starting today I will be more strict with myself again.

Running regression

Actually after the last time I ran around 8km, literally the next run I did ended up with a huge pain on the middle part of my left foot. Ever since that happened, I reduced my running to 4 km with pace 7:30min/km. I also incorporated resistance training because I’m doing a calorie deficit & don’t want my muscle to be used as fuel instead of my visceral fat.

It has been around 3 weeks since I made this training plan:

  • Mon, Wed, Fri: Resistance + core training
  • Tue, Thu, Sat: 4km run @ 7:30min/km
  • Sun: Rest day but get to 8000 steps

On Sundays I would be extremely tired & the fatigue would carry over. Is this training plan too crazy, or will my body just get used to it? I’m not sure myself but I plan on continuing this for the time being.

Future plans

  • I still do want to run 10km this year if possible, but my main goal is currently reaching 65kg so I can stop my calorie deficit
    • Once I reach 65kg I will train for 10K, so I will probably reduce the weekly resistance training to just twice a week
  • As I said before, I plan to retake the JLPT on December if I fail. But honesstly I will probably retake it if I pass but I get under 112/180. The JLPT foundation officially certifies me as B2 on the CEFR standard if I get 112 or higher (out of a possible 180 points) despite having no speaking section. That’s weird but I will definitely strive for it.
